Abstract
Disclosed are systems and methods for generating and augmenting digital instruments that implement electronic transfers. The system converts instruments to a digital format and applies electronic augmentations in the form of metadata or layered optically perceptible data that can be verified or edited. The electronic augmentations are integrated with the digital instrument prior to transmitting the instrument to a third party to initiate transfer execution.
Claims19
A system for implementing and augmenting a digital instrument comprising a computing device that includes at least one processor, an integrated display device, and a memory device storing data and executable code that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to:
- communicate to the integrated display of the computing device, user-readable instructions for a capturing an image of a transfer instrument with a camera in signal communication with the computing device;
- activate the camera, wherein the camera receives an image through a camera lens and generates source image data that comprises a transfer instrument image;
- detect the transfer instrument image within the source image data,
- in response to detecting the transfer instrument image, execute a placement analysis using the source image data, wherein the placement analysis generates augmentation placement data that corresponds to a location for the placement of an electronic augmentation on the transfer instrument image, wherein the placement analysis comprises the steps of
- converting the source image data to black and white pixels with each pixel having a pixel coordinate position and a brightness value,
- segmenting the source image data into one or more regions,
- detecting boundary edges of the transfer instrument image by detecting changes in pixel brightness values above a brightness value threshold,
- processing the transfer instrument image to detect one or more dataset arrays identifying clusters of pixels,
- feeding the one or more dataset arrays to a cluster extraction analysis to identify a marking character or a marking feature within the transfer instrument image,
- selecting an augmentation starting point that is a distance from the marking character or marking feature that permits placement of the electronic augmentation such that the augmentation pixel matrix does not overlap with the marking character or marking feature;
- and
- generate a modified transfer instrument image by applying an electronic augmentation to the source image data by (i) converting augmentation settings data into augmentation image data, wherein the augmentation settings data comprises digital signature data, a product identification, and transfer instruction data, and (ii) displaying the source image data and the augmentation image data on the integrated display device, wherein the electronic augmentation is rendered as overlaid on the transfer instrument according to the augmentation placement data.
A system for implementing and augmenting a digital instrument comprising a provider computing device and an end user computing device, wherein each computing device comprises integrated software applications that, when executed, cause the computing devices to:
- execute by the provider computing device a role data check utilizing a user identification received from the end user computing device, wherein the role data check defines transfer instructions based on the user identification;
- activate camera in signal communication with the end user computing device, wherein the camera receives an image through a camera lens and generates source image data that comprises an image of a transfer instrument;
- convert by the provider computing device, augmentation settings data into augmentation image data that is transmitted to the end user computing device, wherein the augmentation settings data comprises digital signature data and transfer instruction data generated based on the role data;
- detect the transfer instrument image within the source image data;
- in response to detecting the transfer instrument image, execute a placement analysis by the end user computing device using the source image data, wherein the placement analysis generates augmentation placement data that corresponds to a location for the placement of an electronic augmentation on the transfer instrument image, and wherein the placement analysis comprises the operations of
- converting the source image data to black and white pixels with each pixel having a pixel coordinate position and a brightness value,
- segmenting the source image data into one or more regions,
- detecting boundary edges of the transfer instrument image by detecting changes in pixel brightness values above a specified brightness threshold between regions,
- processing the transfer instrument image to detect one or more dataset arrays identifying clusters of pixels,
- feeding the one or more dataset arrays to a cluster extraction analysis to identify a marking character or a marking feature within the transfer instrument image,
- selecting an augmentation starting point that is a distance from the marking character or marking feature that permits placement of the electronic augmentation such that the augmentation pixel matrix does not overlap with the marking character or marking feature;
- and
- generate a modified transfer instrument image by applying by the end user computing device, an electronic augmentation to the source image data by (i) converting augmentation settings data into augmentation image data, (ii) displaying the source image data and the augmentation image data on a display device integrated with the end user computing device, wherein (iii) the electronic augmentation is rendered as overlaid on the transfer instrument according to the augmentation placement data.
