Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for conserving energy of a power source of an analyte monitoring device, including entering a power saving mode based on at least one of a temperature level of a power source, a level of power of a power source, or an amount of power needed by at least one component. Also disclosed herein are methods and systems for reducing noise during data transmissions to and from the analyte monitoring device.
Claims20
An analyte monitoring system, comprising:
- an in vivo analyte sensor configured to be positioned in a body of a user;
- a transmitter coupled to the in vivo analyte sensor and configured to wirelessly transmit analyte data;
- and
- a receiver configured to wirelessly receive the analyte data from the transmitter, the receiver comprising:
- a user input mechanism;
- a display;
- a power supply;
- and
- a plurality of processors coupled to the user input mechanism, the display, and the power supply, the plurality of processors comprising a first processor;
- wherein the receiver comprises a first power mode in which each of the plurality of processors of the receiver are active, wherein the first processor is configured to process the analyte data when the first processor is active,
- wherein the receiver comprises a second power mode in which at least one of the plurality of processors is inactive and the first processor is active, and
- wherein the plurality of processors are programmed to cause the receiver to transition from the first power mode to the second power mode when an executable action is not in process and no tasks are scheduled to run.
A method for operating a receiver of an analyte monitoring system comprising an in vivo analyte sensor configured to be positioned in a body of a user and a transmitter coupled to the in vivo analyte sensor and configured to wirelessly transmit analyte data, wherein the receiver comprises a user input mechanism, a display, a power supply, and a plurality of processors coupled to the user input mechanism, the display, and the power supply, the method comprising:
- operating the receiver in a first power mode in which the plurality of processors are active, the plurality of processors comprising a first processor configured to process analyte data when the first processor is active;
- determining that an executable action is not in process and no tasks are scheduled to run;
- and
- transitioning from the first power mode to a second power mode, in response to the determination that no executable actions are in process and no tasks are scheduled to run, wherein in the second power mode at least one of the plurality of processors is inactive and the first processor is active, and wherein the plurality of processors are programmed to cause the receiver to transition from the first power mode to the second power mode.
