Abstract
Disclosed are compounds and methods for the treatment of diseases or disorders associated with expression of miR-122. More specifically, γ peptide nucleic acid (γPNA) inhibitors of miR-122 and methods of using the same are disclosed.

A composition comprising, from N terminus to C terminus:
- wherein R1 is diethylene glycol;
- n is 19;
- Nuc1, Nucx, and Nuc22 are nucleic acids selected from adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine, wherein x is ascending integers from 2-22 and, wherein, the sequence of Nuc1-22 corresponds to the nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1;
- and Z1 and Z2 are independently 1-5 lysines attached linearly by amide bonds.
