Abstract
Provided is an epoxy reactive diluent, wherein the content of a compound represented by Formula 1 below is 85% by weight or more based on a total weight of an epoxy reactive diluent composition: wherein n is 0, 2, 4 or 6.

A method for preparing an epoxy reactive diluent, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) reacting a mixture including cardanol and epichlorohydrin in a presence of a catalyst to obtain a product in which a content of epoxidized cardanol is 85% by weight or more;
- and
- (b) isolating and purifying the product,
- wherein the step (b) comprises the steps of:
- (b1) filtering the product to obtain a filtrate;
- (b2) separating the filtrate into an upper layer and a lower layer to remove the lower layer;
- (b3) vacuum-evaporating the upper layer to recover the epichlorohydrin;
- and
- (b4) filtering the product generated in the vacuum-evaporating.
