Abstract

A dual inlet assembly configured to provide a mix of ventilation airflow and conditioned airflow to a space inside a building. The dual inlet assembly comprises a first duct having a first diameter and a first terminal end. The first duct is configured to provide the ventilation airflow. The dual inlet assembly further comprises a second duct having a second diameter and a second terminal end. The second duct is configured to provide the conditioned airflow. The first terminal end of the first duct extends beyond the second terminal end of the second duct; the first diameter of the first duct is smaller than the second diameter of the second duct; and a portion of the first duct extends into and within a portion of the second duct.

Dependent claims

An air inlet assembly for a HVAC system, the air inlet assembly comprising:

a dual inlet assembly configured to provide a mix of ventilation airflow and conditioned airflow to a space inside a building, wherein the dual inlet assembly comprises:
a first duct including a first portion having a first diameter, a second portion having a second diameter, a flow control element, and a first terminal end and configured to provide the ventilation airflow out of the first terminal end, wherein the flow control element is coupled with the first portion and the first diameter is larger than the second diameter, and
a second duct having a third diameter and a second terminal end and configured to provide the conditioned airflow out of the second terminal end, wherein the first terminal end providing the ventilation airflow extends beyond the second terminal end providing the conditioned airflow, the first terminal end and the second terminal end extending through an inlet, the first diameter and the second diameter are smaller than the third diameter, and a portion of the first duct extends into and within a portion of the second duct.
