The present invention relates to a synergistic composition and method for removing biofilm using glutaraldehyde and analogs of mannose.

A synergistic composition useful for the removal of biofilm comprising:
- i) glutaraldehyde;
- and
- ii) 2-deoxy-D-glucose.
A synergistic composition useful for the removal of biofilm comprising:
- i) glutaraldehyde;

- ii) α-methyl-mannoside.
