Abstract
A pet hair removal apparatus has a plurality of engagement members. The apparatus operates in a plurality of different operational engagement position in which different engagement members contact the surface to remove pet hair from the surface depending on which operational engagement position the apparatus is positioned. The pet hair removal apparatus may be formed through a coextrusion process to form the resultant shape of the pet hair removal apparatus using multiple different materials to form the engagement members and a body thereof.
Claims16
A pet hair removal apparatus comprising:
- a body defining a gripping portion, the body including a first end opposite a second end defining a first direction therebetween, and the body including a first side opposite a second side defining a second direction therebetween, and the body including a top surface opposite a bottom surface defining a third direction therebetween;
- a first engagement member coextruded onto a first location on the body;
- a second engagement member coextruded onto a second location on the body;
- a first operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a first position to engage the first engagement member with an exterior surface of an inanimate object;
- a second operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a second position to engage the second engagement member with the exterior surface of the inanimate object, wherein the second position is different than the first position;
- a third engagement member coextruded onto a third location on the body;
- and
- a third operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is in a third position to engage the third engagement member with the inanimate object, wherein the third position is inverted relative to the first position;
- wherein the third engagement member comprises:
- a front surface that is angled between 10° and 80° relative to the third direction;
- a rear surface that is angled between 10° and 80° relative to the third direction;
- and
- wherein the front surface and the rear surface meet to define a tip.
A pet hair removal apparatus comprising:
- a body defining a gripping portion, the body including a first end opposite a second end defining a first direction therebetween, and the body including a first side opposite a second side defining a second direction therebetween, and the body including a top surface opposite a bottom surface defining a third direction therebetween;
- a first engagement member coextruded onto a first location on the body;
- a second engagement member coextruded onto a second location on the body;
- a first operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a first position to engage the first engagement member with an exterior surface of an inanimate object;
- a second operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a second position to engage the second engagement member with the exterior surface of the inanimate object, wherein the second position is different than the first position;
- a first polymer forming at least a portion of the body, and the first polymer having a first flexural modulus;
- a second polymer forming at least a portion of the first engagement member, and the second polymer having a second flexural modulus;
- and
- wherein the second flexural modulus is in a range from about 20%-80% less than the first flexural modulus.
A pet hair removal apparatus comprising:
- a body defining a gripping portion, the body including a first end opposite a second end defining a first direction therebetween, and the body including a first side opposite a second side defining a second direction therebetween, and the body including a top surface opposite a bottom surface defining a third direction therebetween;
- a first engagement member coextruded onto a first location on the body;
- a second engagement member coextruded onto a second location on the body;
- a first operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a first position to engage the first engagement member with an exterior surface of an inanimate object;
- a second operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a second position to engage the second engagement member with the exterior surface of the inanimate object, wherein the second position is different than the first position;
- a first polymer forming at least a portion of the body, the first polymer having a first Shore A hardness;
- a second polymer forming at least a portion of the first engagement member, the second polymer having a second Shore A hardness;
- and
- wherein the second Shore A hardness is in a range that is about 20%-80% less than the first Shore A hardness.
A pet hair removal apparatus comprising:
- a body defining a gripping portion, the body including a first end opposite a second end defining a first direction therebetween, and the body including a first side opposite a second side defining a second direction therebetween, and the body including a top surface opposite a bottom surface defining a third direction therebetween;
- a first engagement member coextruded onto a first location on the body;
- a second engagement member coextruded onto a second location on the body;
- a first operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a first position to engage the first engagement member with an exterior surface of an inanimate object;
- a second operational engagement mode in which the apparatus is oriented in a second position to engage the second engagement member with the exterior surface of the inanimate object, wherein the second position is different than the first position;
- a first sidewall of the body that extends from the first end to the second end and extends from the top of the body to the bottom of the body;
- a first outer surface on the first sidewall, wherein a portion of the first outer surface is concavely curved;
- a second sidewall of the body that extends from the first end to the second end and extends from the top surface of the body to the bottom surface of the body;
- and
- a second outer surface on the second sidewall, wherein a portion of the second outer surface is concavely curved.
