Abstract
Disclosed herein are various devices, systems, and methods for use in agricultural, particularly for use in harvesting agricultural crop such as corn. Various implementations relate to devices, systems, and methods for increasing yield by emitting warnings when the corn head to not at the proper height.
Claims4
A method for warning an operator of a shelled ear event, comprising:
- measuring movement of at least one sensing member during harvest operations, the at least one sensing member disposed below a stripper plate of a row unit;
- wherein the movement of the at least one sensing member indicates one or more of a stalk diameter and a stalk perimeter;
- and
- determining a threshold range for movement of the at least one sensing member wherein when the threshold range is met a stalk is passing through the row unit and wherein when the threshold range is exceeded an alarm is emitted indicating a shelled ear event,
- wherein when the threshold range is exceeded a harvester header is lowered incrementally until the threshold range is met.
