Analog video transport over imperfect electromagnetic pathways

A sender apparatus for transmitting an input payload of one or more sampled video signals over an electromagnetic pathway, said apparatus comprising:

• a permuter that assigns digital samples from said input payload to locations in an input vector of N locations using a pre-determined permutation, each location in said input vector receiving one of said digital samples;
• a line driver that receives said N digital samples as an ordered series of L digital output values, wherein L>=N>=2;
• a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that converts said L digital output values into L analog output values;
• and
• an output terminal that transmits said L analog output values over said electromagnetic pathway from said sender apparatus to a receiver, wherein said sender apparatus and said receiver both being implemented within a common enclosure of video equipment, wherein said video equipment is a television, a monitor, a vehicle display, an automotive display, retail signage, a retail display, a kiosk display or an immersive Virtual Reality (iVR) display.

A method of receiving an ordered series of L analog input values over an electromagnetic pathway, said method comprising:

• receiving said ordered series of L analog input values from a sender over said electromagnetic pathway at a line amplifier of a receiver, wherein said sender and said receiver both being implemented within a common enclosure of a video equipment;
• receiving into an output vector, said L analog input values as N analog samples, wherein L>=N>=2;
• distributing said N analog samples from said output vector to a reconstructed output payload of one or more of sampled video signals using a predetermined permutation which is the inverse of a permutation used in said sender;
• and
• delivering said reconstructed output payload of one or more of sampled video signals to a display of said video equipment.

A receiver apparatus for receiving an ordered series of L analog input values over an electromagnetic pathway, said apparatus comprising:

• an input terminal that receives said ordered series of L analog input values from a sender over said electromagnetic pathway, wherein said sender and said receiver apparatus both being implemented within a common enclosure of a video equipment, wherein said video equipment is a television, a monitor, a vehicle display, an automotive display, retail signage, a retail display, a kiosk display or an immersive Virtual Reality (iVR) display;
• an output vector that receives and stores said L analog input values as N analog samples, wherein L>=N>=2;
• and
• a permuter that distributes said N analog samples from said output vector to a reconstructed output payload of one or more of sampled video signals using a pre-determined permutation which is the inverse of a permutation used in said sender.
