Abstract
Athletic and/or work wear garment can have textile regions of differing friction to facilitate maintaining a grip between high friction textile regions and objects pressed against the high friction textile regions. In some embodiments, the high friction textile regions can facilitate carrying objects. In some embodiments, the garment can be a shirt. In some embodiments, the garment can be pants. In some embodiments, the garment can be an undergarment and the high friction textile regions can reduce shifting of an outer garment in contact with the undergarment.
Claims16
A garment in the form of a sleeve, the garment comprising:
- two open, opposed ends, wherein the two open ends respectively define longitudinally terminal extents of the garment;
- a tubular shape having an exterior, an interior, a circumference, and a length extending between the two open ends;
- a first single-layer fabric extending between the two open ends;
- and
- a second single-layer fabric extending between the open ends such that the first single-layer fabric and the second single-layer fabric collectively circumscribe a majority of the circumference,
- wherein the first single-layer fabric comprises a first textile surface and the second single-layer fabric comprises a second textile surface such that the first textile surface extends a majority of the length and such that the second textile surface extends a majority of the length,
- wherein the first textile surface has a higher coefficient of friction than the second textile surface,
- wherein the first single-layer fabric comprises a third textile surface on the interior and extending under the majority of the first textile surface, and
- wherein the first textile surface has a higher coefficient of friction than the third textile surface.
A method comprising:
- donning a garment in the form of a sleeve to an arm of a human, the garment comprising:
- two open, opposed ends, wherein the two open ends respectively define longitudinally terminal extents of the garment;
- a tubular shape having an exterior, an interior, a circumference, and a length extending between the two open ends;
- a first single-layer fabric extending between the two open ends;
- and
- a second single-layer fabric extending between the open ends such that the first single-layer fabric and the second single-layer fabric collectively circumscribe the circumference,
- wherein the first single-layer fabric comprises a first textile surface and the second single-layer fabric comprises a second textile surface such that the first textile surface extends a majority of the length and such that the second textile surface extends a majority of the length,
- wherein the first textile surface has a higher coefficient of friction than the second textile surface,
- wherein the first single-layer fabric comprises a third textile surface on the interior and extending under the majority of the first textile surface,
- wherein the first textile surface has a higher coefficient of friction than the third textile surface, and
- wherein the second textile surface covers a majority of a biceps muscle, covers a majority of a triceps muscle, and extends distally from the biceps muscle and the triceps muscle to a wrist of the arm of the human.
