Abstract
Aspects of this disclosure relate to a radio frequency system with an antenna, a radio frequency amplifier, and parallel acoustic wave filters. The parallel acoustic wave filters can each be a band pass filter having a passband and resonator area. The passbands of the parallel acoustic filters can be overlap in an overlap band. One of the parallel acoustic wave filters can have a smaller resonator area than another of the parallel acoustic wave filters.

A radio frequency system comprising:
- an antenna;
- a radio frequency amplifier;
- a first acoustic wave filter having a first passband and a first acoustic wave resonator area, the first acoustic wave filter being in a signal path between the antenna and the radio frequency amplifier;
- and
- a second acoustic wave filter having a second passband and a second acoustic wave resonator area, the second acoustic wave filter being in parallel with the first acoustic wave filter, the second passband including frequencies above the first passband, the first passband and the second passband overlapping in an overlap band, the first acoustic wave filter having a higher impedance in the overlap band than the second acoustic wave filter, and the first acoustic wave resonator area being smaller than the second acoustic wave resonator area.

A wireless communication device comprising:
- an antenna;
- a radio frequency amplifier;
- a transceiver in communication with the radio frequency amplifier;
- a first acoustic wave filter having a first passband and a first acoustic wave resonator area, the first acoustic wave filter being in a signal path between the antenna and the radio frequency amplifier;
- and
- a second acoustic wave filter having a second passband and a second acoustic wave resonator area, the second acoustic wave filter being in parallel with the first acoustic wave filter, the second passband including frequencies above the first passband, the first passband and the second passband overlapping in an overlap band, the first acoustic wave filter having a higher impedance in the overlap band than the second acoustic wave filter, and the first acoustic wave resonator area being smaller than the second acoustic wave resonator area.

A method of filtering a radio frequency signal, the method comprising:
- receiving a radio frequency signal at an antenna of a radio frequency system;
- and
- filtering the radio frequency signal with a first acoustic wave filter and a second acoustic wave filter that are in parallel with each other, the first acoustic wave filter having a first passband and a first acoustic wave resonator area, the second acoustic wave filter having a second passband and a second acoustic wave resonator area, the second passband including frequencies above the first passband, the first passband and the second passband overlapping in an overlap band, the first acoustic wave filter having a higher impedance in the overlap band than the second acoustic wave filter, and the first acoustic wave resonator area being smaller than the second acoustic wave resonator area.
