Abstract
Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate to protecting a control line as it passes through a junction in a downhole environment. An ETJ deployment tool (ETJDT) comprises a tool body comprising a central bore; at least one first component and at least one second component, each component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one second component is disposed at an axial distance from the at least one first component along the tool body; a member disposed within the central bore and operable to move forward upon receiving fluid; and a spring disposed axially between a portion of the member and the at least one second component.
Claims20
A completion deflector running tool (CDRT) comprising:
- a tool body comprising a central bore;
- at least one component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body;
- a guide extending from a distal end of the tool body, the guide operable to rotate;
- a first chamber and second chamber each formed within the tool body, wherein the first chamber and the second chamber are each in fluid communication with the central bore via a port wherein the pressure in the first chamber and second chamber is based at least in part on the pressure in the central bore;
- a first member with a first proximal end disposed at least partially within the first chamber and a first distal end secured to the guide;
- and
- a second member with a second proximal end disposed at least partially within the second chamber and a second distal end secured to the guide, and wherein movement of the first member and the second member is configured to rotate the guide.
A completion deflector running tool (CDRT) comprising:
- a tool body comprising a central bore;
- at least one component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one component is configured to extend and retract laterally from the tool body to engage and disengage, respectively, an extensible transition joint, and wherein the extensible transition joint comprises:
- a first tubular member;
- and
- a second tubular member disposed within a secondary wellbore, wherein the first tubular member is movably disposed at least partially in the second tubular member, wherein the first tubular member is configured move with respect to the second tubular member to extend into a primary wellbore, via a casing window, in response to the at least one component engaging the extensible transition joint and the tool body moving in an uphole direction;
- and
- a guide extending from a distal end of the tool body, the guide operable to rotate.
A completion deflector running tool (CDRT) comprising:
- a tool body comprising a central bore;
- at least one component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one component is configured to extend and retract laterally from the tool body to engage and disengage, respectively, a completion deflector and an extensible transition joint, and wherein the extensible transition joint comprises:
- a first tubular member;
- and
- a second tubular member disposed within a secondary wellbore, wherein the first tubular member is movably disposed at least partially in the second tubular member, wherein the first tubular member is configured move with respect to the second tubular member to extend into a primary wellbore, via a casing window, in response to the at least one component engaging the extensible transition joint and the tool body moving in an uphole direction;
- and
- a guide extending from a distal end of the tool body, the guide operable to rotate.
