Abstract
A method of correcting distortion of an image, including: analyzing, by a processor, an image segment of the image to identify a speckle artifact, the image segment being obtained from a scanning imaging device; determining, by the processor, an aspect ratio of a shape of the speckle artifact; determining, by the processor, a correction factor for the shape of the speckle artifact based on the aspect ratio; and adjusting, by the processor, a dimension of the image segment based on the correction factor.
Claims16
A method of correcting distortion of an image, comprising:
- analyzing, by a processor, an image segment of the image to identify a locally bright feature in a sample,
- the image segment being obtained from a rotational scanning imaging device;
- determining, by the processor, an aspect ratio of a shape of the locally bright feature;
- determining, by the processor, a correction factor for the shape of the locally bright feature based on the aspect ratio based on a polynomial function which relates the aspect ratio to the correction factor;
- and
- adjusting, by the processor, a dimension of the image segment based on the correction factor.
An apparatus for correcting distortion of an image, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory in communication with the processor having stored thereon a set of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- analyze an image segment of the image to identify a locally bright feature in a sample,
- the image segment being obtained from a rotational scanning imaging device,
- determine an aspect ratio of a shape of the locally bright feature,
- determine a correction factor for the shape of the locally bright feature based on the aspect ratio based on a polynomial function which relates the aspect ratio to the correction factor, and
- adjust a dimension of the image segment based on the correction factor.
