Abstract
A transmission device includes a symbol generator that generates a modulation symbol by mapping transmission data to a signal point arranged in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional color space; and an outputter that outputs an optical signal modulated according to the modulation symbol.
Claims4
A transmission device, comprising:
- circuitry;
- and a light emitter, wherein the circuitry, in operation, performs:
- transmitting a control symbol and a data symbol as an optical signal via the light emitter, the control symbol including information indicating a color space, the data symbol expressed using the color space, wherein
- the control symbol is transmitted in the optical signal as a luminance signal that uses a mapping method that modulates a luminance value irrespective of the color space, and
- the data symbol is transmitted in the optical signal as a signal that uses a mapping method used in the color space and that is different from the luminance signal.
A transmission method performed by a transmission device including a light emitter, the transmission method comprising:
- transmitting a control symbol and a data symbol as an optical signal via the light emitter, the control symbol including information indicating a color space, the data symbol expressed using the color space, wherein
- the control symbol is transmitted in the optical signal as a luminance signal that uses a mapping method that modulates a luminance value irrespective of the color space, and
- the data symbol is transmitted in the optical signal as a signal that uses a mapping method used in the color space and that is different from the luminance signal.
A reception device, comprising:
- circuitry;
- and a light receiver, wherein the circuitry, in operation, performs:
- receiving a control symbol and a data symbol as an optical signal via the light receiver, the control symbol including information indicating a color space, the data symbol expressed using the color space, wherein
- the control symbol is received in the optical signal as a luminance signal that uses a mapping method that modulates a luminance value irrespective of the color space, and
- the data symbol is received in the optical signal as a signal that uses a mapping method used in the color space and that is different from the luminance signal.
A reception method performed by a reception device including a light receiver, the reception method comprising:
- receiving a control symbol and a data symbol as an optical signal via the light receiver, the control symbol including information indicating a color space, the data symbol expressed using the color space, wherein
- the control symbol is received in the optical signal as a luminance signal that uses a mapping method that modulates a luminance value irrespective of the color space, and
- the data symbol is received in the optical signal as a signal that uses a mapping method used in the color space and that is different from the luminance signal.
