Abstract
An airfoil assembly for a turbine engine, the airfoil assembly including a platform defining an inner surface and an outer surface, a variable pitch airfoil extending radially from the outer surface of the platform from a root to a tip to define a span length and a mounting structure connected to the platform.
Claims20
An airfoil assembly for a turbine engine, the airfoil assembly comprising:
- a platform defining an inner surface and an outer surface;
- a variable pitch airfoil extending radially from the outer surface of the platform, the variable pitch airfoil extending from a root to a tip to define a span length;
- and
- a yielding interface affixed to the inner surface of the platform and configured to be mounted to a curved annular mounting surface, wherein when the yielding interface is directly mounted to the curved annular mounting surface, the yielding interface is located between the inner surface of the platform and the curved annular mounting surface, and the yielding interface provides yielding in a plurality of directions between the platform and the curved annular mounting surface.

An airfoil assembly for a turbine engine, the airfoil assembly comprising:
- a platform defining an inner surface and an outer surface;
- a variable pitch airfoil extending radially from the outer surface of the platform, the variable pitch airfoil extending from a root to a tip to define a span length;
- a mounting structure having a curved mounting surface;
- and
- a yielding interface including a first portion affixed to the inner surface of the platform and a second portion that is opposite the first portion, wherein the second portion is directly coupled to the curved mounting surface, and wherein the yielding interface provides yielding in a plurality of directions between the platform and the mounting structure.
