Accessing wells below an obstruction or discontinuity

A system for use with a subterranean well, the system comprising:

• a tubular string comprising a drilling bottom hole assembly connected at a distal end of a coiled tubing, the coiled tubing comprising a communication line configured to permit communication between surface instrumentation and the drilling bottom hole assembly, and the drilling bottom hole assembly comprising an orienter and ranging equipment;
• in which the tubular string exits a pre-existing wellbore uphole of an obstruction that prevents access to a portion of the pre-existing wellbore downhole of the obstruction,
• in which the portion of the pre-existing wellbore downhole of the obstruction comprises a target wellbore due to the obstruction, and
• in which the tubular string extends through an intercept wellbore which intersects the target wellbore downhole of the obstruction, so that fluid communication is provided between the pre-existing wellbore uphole of the obstruction and the target wellbore.
