Abstract
Lipid production control factors in yeasts are provided. A yeast 115694 gene, a yeast 4888 gene, and a yeast 45559 gene are provided as lipid production control factors.
Claims2
A method comprising performing on a yeast at least one selected from the group consisting of the following (1) and (2) to increase or decrease lipid production capacity of the yeast:
- (1) increasing or decreasing the expression of a 115694 gene in the yeast, and
- (2) expressing, in the yeast, the 115694 gene having a mutation in a region between the transmembrane domain and the nuclear localization signal,
- wherein:
- the 115694 gene is a gene encoding a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity with an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:
- 1,
- the mutation is at least one mutation selected from the group consisting of M1108T, F1115S, and K1119E of the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:
- 1, and
- the yeast belongs to the genus Lipomyces.
