Abstract
Methods for producing proteins, cells for producing proteins, and methods for producing cells with improved protein production are provided. Methods of producing a selected protein, including expressing the selected protein in a cell expressing a Rheb (Ras homologue enriched in brain) protein having an activity to increase protein production in the cell, and secreting the selected protein from the cell, thereby producing the protein are provided.
Claims7
A method of producing a selected protein, the method comprising:
- expressing the selected protein in a cell expressing a Rheb (Ras homologue enriched in brain) protein having an activity to increase protein production in the cell;
- and
- secreting the selected protein from the cell;
- thereby producing the protein,
- wherein the Rheb protein comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2 and comprises a methionine at amino acid residue 23 of SEQ ID NO:
- 2 or a lysine at amino acid residue 40 of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, and
- wherein the selected protein is an exogenous protein.
