Systems and methods for forecasting aftertreatment temperatures over a horizon

A method comprising:

• receiving an estimated exhaust gas temperature corresponding to exhaust gas emitted from an engine;
• generating, based on the estimated gas exhaust temperature, a forecasted exhaust temperature;
• generating a first temperature profile corresponding to a first aftertreatment system component of an exhaust aftertreatment system based on the forecasted exhaust temperature;
• and
• generating, based on the first temperature profile, a second temperature profile corresponding to a second aftertreatment system component of the exhaust aftertreatment system, the second aftertreatment system component different from the first aftertreatment system component.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions therein that, when executed by at least one processor of a controller, cause the controller to perform operations comprising:

• receiving engine operational data comprising a first engine operating condition;
• determining that a first portion of model data of a model is not accessible by the at least one processor of a memory based on determining that the first portion of the model data is stored at a first memory level of the memory;
• moving the first portion of the model data to a second memory level of the memory, the second memory level different than the first memory level;
• and
• generating at least one of an estimated temperature value or a forecasted temperature value based on the model and using the first portion of the model data.
