Abstract
The present disclosure provides insulated panels comprising a core layer including an insulating material, an interior-side sheathing layer, and an exterior-side sheathing layer. The insulated panels of the present disclosure can be used to conveniently retrofit existing structures to dramatically improve thermal insulation performance without substantially increasing a risk of moisture retention or mold formation within the structure's walls.

An insulated panel comprising:
- a frame disposed about an outer perimeter of the insulated panel, the frame having a first height (h) of about 4 feet to about 12 feet and being defined by opposing first and second vertical frame members interconnected with top and bottom horizontal frame members, wherein the bottom horizontal frame member is configured to rest on a panel support;
- a core layer disposed within the frame, the core layer comprising thermal insulation;
- an exterior layer disposed on an exterior side of the core layer, the exterior layer comprising a first sheathing;
- an interior layer disposed on an interior side of the core layer, the interior layer comprising a second, insulating sheathing or single-ply continuous fiber board;
- and
- a water-resistant barrier layer disposed on the exterior layer opposite the core layer.

An insulated panel comprising:
- an external frame, the external frame comprises a bottom frame member, a first vertical frame member disposed at one end of the bottom frame member, a second vertical frame member disposed at a second end of the bottom frame member, and a top frame member disposed opposite the bottom frame member;
- a thermal insulation disposed within the external frame;
- a first sheathing layer disposed on an interior face of the insulated panel;
- a second sheathing layer disposed on an exterior face of the insulated panel;
- and
- a water-resistant barrier layer disposed on the second sheathing layer opposite the first sheathing layer,
- wherein the insulated panel has a height (h) configured to extend from a rim joist of a structure to a soffit of the structure.
