A liquid crystal composition comprising:

• a liquid crystal compound;
• and
• a surfactant,
• wherein the surfactant is a copolymer having a repeating unit A represented by Formula (a1) and a repeating unit B including two or more ring structures, the ring structures being a cycloalkane ring or a monocyclic aromatic ring, and at least one of the ring structures being a monocyclic aromatic ring,
• in Formula (a1),
• m represents an integer of 2 or more,
• R11, R12, and R13 each independently represent an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, or an alkylenearyl group, provided that a plurality of R11's may be the same as or different from each other, a plurality of R12's may be the same as or different from each other, and a plurality of R13's may be the same as or different from each other,
• R21 and R22 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group,
• R23 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent,
• L1 represents —O— or —NRZ—, provided that RZ represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and
• L2 represents an (m+1)-valent linking group.
