Ventilator system reporting

A medical system for assisting a rescuer in providing manual ventilations to a patient, comprising:

• a manual patient ventilation unit defining an airflow path, the manual patient ventilation unit arranged so that when the manual patient ventilation unit is applied to the patient, the airflow path is in fluid communication with the patient's airway, the manual patient ventilation unit comprising a ventilation bag configured to enable manual ventilation of the patient by the rescuer to administer a ventilation breath to the patient;
• at least one sensor configured to be positioned in the airflow path to sense a presence of ventilation airflow and generate data indicative of a gas flow in the airflow path;
• and
• a feedback device comprising a visual display configured to provide ventilation feedback to the rescuer, the feedback device comprising at least one processor arranged to:
• receive and process the data generated by the at least one sensor,
• based on the processed data, determine when a ventilation breath has been administered to the patient and estimate a tidal volume of the ventilation breath,
• compare the estimated ventilation tidal volume to a target ventilation tidal volume range, and
• provide ventilation feedback on the visual display, the feedback providing an indication of whether the estimated tidal volume of the ventilation breath falls within the target ventilation tidal volume range and providing a timing indication representing a time until a subsequent ventilation breath should be provided to the patient.
