Abstract
Provided herein are methods for identifying patient having treatment resistant cancers, such as HPV-related cancers. Therapeutic methods for treatment of cancers are also provided.
Claims17
A method of treating an HPV cancer in a subject comprising:
- (a) determining the relative abundance of Lactobacillus iners in the subject, wherein an enriched abundance of Lactobacillus iners as compared to a total abundance of bacteria in a sample from the subject, identifies the subject as having decreased radiation response;
- and (b) administering an effective amount of a probiotic to reduce the level of Lactobacillus iners in the subject in combination with an anti-cancer therapy.
