Abstract
A method includes determining a shunt fraction of microbeads by comparing a known ratio of a mixture of smaller microbeads loaded with a first contrast agent to larger microbeads loaded with a second contrast agent changes to a diffused ratio of the smaller microbeads to the larger microbeads after the mixture has been administered to a treatment site.
Claims21
A method comprising:
- providing a mixture of smaller contrast-loaded microbeads and larger contrast-loaded microbeads in a known ratio;
- waiting a first period of time after the mixture has been administered to a treatment site;
- and
- after the first period of time, determining a first shunt fraction of the mixture by correlating the known ratio to a diffused ratio of the smaller contrast-loaded microbeads to the larger contrast-loaded microbeads in the treatment site.
A method comprising determining a shunt fraction of microbeads by comparing a known ratio of a mixture of smaller microbeads loaded with a first contrast agent to larger microbeads loaded with a second contrast agent changes to a diffused ratio of the smaller microbeads to the larger microbeads after the mixture has been administered to a treatment site.
