A magnetic flux control system (41) for controlling the magnetic flux in an electrical machine (1) with concentrated windings (22A-C) has at least one magnetic balancing power supply (51A-C), at least one balancing-current controller (61A-C) and electrical connections (71) configured to permit the connection of the balancing-current controller(s) over a segment (23) of the concentrated windings. The balancing power supply provides galvanicisolation. The magnetic balancing system has further at least one sensor (75) configured to measure a parameter associated with a magnetic flux, a force, a position, vibrations, voltages, and/or currents. The balancing-current controller(s) (61A-C) is(are) connected to the sensor(s) and is(are) powered by the balancing power supply(supplies). The balancing-current controller is configured to control an output current in dependence of a signal representing the measured parameter of the sensor(s). A winding excitation arrangement, an electrical machine and a method for balancing are also disclosed.
A magnetic flux control system for controlling the magnetic flux in an electrical machine with concentrated windings, all connected in series and supplied by a common main power supply, said magnetic flux control system comprising:
