Claims29
A wearable medical module for embedding within a medical dressing over a wound on a body surface of a patient, comprising:
- a housing forming a receptacle having a lower opening configured to face the wound, wherein the housing comprises a flange configured to be embedded within the medical dressing;
- a camera sensor, battery, and wireless antenna sized and shaped to be disposed in the receptacle;
- a cover disposed over the lower opening and having an aperture aligned with the camera sensor so that the camera sensor has a field of view of the wound through the aperture;
- and
- a support configured to extend between the housing and the body surface of the patient so as to maintain a distance between the camera sensor and the wound on the body surface;
- wherein the camera sensor is configured to generate image data regarding the wound without removal of the medical dressing, and wherein the wireless antenna is configured to transmit the image data.
A wearable medical module for embedding within a medical dressing over a wound on a body surface of a patient, comprising:
- a housing forming a receptacle having a lower opening configured to face the wound, wherein the housing has an upper surface facing away from the wound, and wherein the housing is configured to be embedded within the medical dressing such that at least a portion of the upper surface is covered by the medical dressing;
- a camera sensor disposed relative to the receptacle and configured to capture an image of the wound, wherein the camera sensor is configured to generate image data regarding the wound when the housing is embedded within the medical dressing;
- and
- a support configured for placement between the housing and the body surface of the patient so as to maintain a distance between the camera sensor and the wound on the body surface.
A wearable medical module for embedding within a medical dressing over a wound on a body surface of a patient, comprising:
- a housing forming a receptacle having a lower opening configured to face the wound, wherein the housing is configured to be embedded within the medical dressing;
- a camera sensor at least partially disposed in the receptacle and configured to capture an image of the wound;
- and
- one or more supports configured to be placed between the housing and the body surface of the patient so as to adjust a distance between the camera sensor and the body surface within which the wound is located;
- wherein the camera sensor is configured to generate image data regarding the wound without removal of the medical dressing from the body surface of the patient.
A wearable medical module for embedding within a surgical foam pad over a patient's wound on a body surface of a patient and real-time monitoring of healing of the patient's wound, comprising:
- a housing having a lower surface, wherein the housing comprises a flange configured to be embedded within the surgical foam pad;
- one or more supports configured to be placed between the housing towards and body surface of the patient and configured to maintain a distance between the lower surface and the patient's wound;
- an optical instrument supported by the housing and configured to capture an image of the patient's wound when the housing is embedded within the surgical foam pad;
- and
- a transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit the captured image.
