Claims18
A method of providing non-pharmacological analgesia to a patient having a cast after a medical procedure requiring the cast, comprising:
- applying a decorative patch to a surface portion of the cast, wherein the decorative patch is capable of remaining adhered to the surface portion of the cast without peeling through a pain management period of at least 12 hours after the cast is put on the patient;
- assessing a pain score associated with the patient during the pain management period, and
- administering based on lowering of the pain score, a lower dose of an analgesic to the patient during the pain management period relative to an amount of the analgesic that would have been administered if the decorative patch is not applied.
