Abstract
Disclosed are compositions useful in the treatment or prevention of endometriosis and pain. Also disclosed are methods for the treatment and/or prevention of endometriosis and pain.
Claims8
A composition comprising:
- (i) high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, a salt of a hyaluronic acid or a mixture thereof wherein the molecular weight of more than 50 w/w % of the hyaluronic acid is in the range from about 106 to about 107 Da;
- and
- (ii) a copper ion complex or a mixture of copper ion complexes obtained by a process comprising:
- (a) contacting copper having a specific surface area of from about 0.1 m2/kg to about 2 m2/kg, or in the form of particles having a bulk density of between about 0.2 and about 8.0 g/cm3, with a chelating agent in solid form;
- and
- (b) while the copper is in contact with the chelating agent, contacting the copper and chelating agent with an oxidising agent, to form the copper ion complex or mixture of copper ion complexes.
