Abstract
An optical glass includes, in terms of mol % of cations, a total amount of La3+, Y3+, and Gd3+ components falling within a range of from 5% to 65% and a total amount of Zr4+, Hf4+, and Ta5+ components falling within a range of from 5% to 65%, and a relationship expressed in Expression (1) given below is satisfied. (La3++Y3++Gd3+)×(Zr4++Hf4++Ta5+)≥400(%)2.

An optical glass, comprising:
- in terms of mol % of cations,
- a Ta5+ component falling within a range of 0% to 20%,
- a total amount of La3+, Y3+, and Gd3+ components falling within a range of 5% to 65%;
- and
- a total amount of Zr4+, Hf4+, and Ta5+ components falling within a range of 24.8% to 65%, wherein
- a relationship expressed in Expression (1) given below is satisfied;
- (La3++Y3++Gd3+)×(Zr4++Hf4++Ta5+)≥400(%)2 (1).
