Abstract
A method for the production of complex geometry, and even large, highly performant metal-comprising components in a cost effective way. The method is also indicated for the construction of components with internal features and voids. The method is also beneficial for light construction. The method allows the reproduction of bio-mimetic structures and other advanced structures for topological performance optimization.

A method for producing metal-comprising components comprising the steps of:
- a) providing a mould,
- b) filling the mould with powder,
- c) sealing the mould,
- d) subjecting the mould to high pressure,
- e) while keeping a high pressure level, raising the temperature of the mould,
- f) while keeping a high enough temperature, of 320 K or more, releasing at least 5% of the pressure applied to the mould, to a value below 90 MPa, wherein the pressure is released at a rate between 980 MPa/s and 0.9 MPa/h.
A method for producing metal-comprising components comprising the steps of:
- a) providing a mould,
- b) filling the mould with powder,
- c) sealing the mould,
- d) subjecting the mould to high pressure,
- e) while keeping a high pressure level, raising the temperature of the mould,
- f) while keeping a high enough temperature of 320 K or more, releasing at least some of the pressure applied to the mould;
- wherein at least part of the mould provided in step a) is manufactured through an additive manufacturing technology chosen amongst SLA, DLP, CDLP, MJ, MJF, BJ, DOD and SLS, wherein the material used to manufacture the mould comprises a polyolefin and/or a polyamide with a heat deflection temperature from 32° C. to 380° C. measured according to ASTM D648-07 with a load of 1.82 MPa, reinforcement below 28% or no reinforcement and has a tensile strength between 2 MPa and 188 MPa when characterized with a strain rate of 1·10−2 s−1.
