Ultra-broadband radio link identification for outdoor small cell site locations

An apparatus for identifying radio transmission links for one or more cells within a network, the apparatus comprising:

• a memory storage storing computer-executable instructions;
• and
• a processor communicatively coupled to the memory storage, wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions and cause the processor to:
• receive, from a central sever, location data with respect to a cell within the network;
• find, based on the location data, multiple radio transmitters as candidates;
• determine, for each of the candidates if a first line of sight is clear between the cell and each of the candidates;
• upon determining that there is one or more candidates with a clear line of sight, determine if each of the one or more candidates with the clear line of sight are located at a first transmission medium location;
• and
• upon determining that there is one or more candidates located at the first transmission medium location, create a link between the cell and at least one of the one or more candidates located at the first transmission medium location.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-executable instructions for identifying radio transmission links for one or more cells within a network by an apparatus, wherein the computer-executable instructions, when executed by at least one processor of the apparatus, cause the apparatus to:

• receive location data with respect to a cell within the network;
• find, based on the location data, multiple radio transmitters as candidates;
• determine, for each of the candidates, if a first line of sight is clear between the cell and each of the candidates;
• upon determining that there is one or more candidates with a clear line of sight, determine if each of the one or more candidates with the clear line of sight are located at a first transmission medium location;
• and
• upon determining that there is one or more candidates located at the first transmission medium location, create a link between the cell and at least one of the one or more candidates located at the first transmission medium location.
