Abstract
Provided is a method for producing colored wood, the method including: a step of impregnating a block of wood with an organic acid aqueous solution containing an organic acid; and a step of performing steam treatment at high temperature and high pressure on the block of wood in a wet state of being impregnated with the organic acid aqueous solution while keeping the block of wood in the wet state. In the steam treatment, the temperature is 110° C. or more and 160° C. or less and the pressure is a saturated steam pressure at the temperature.
Claims11
A method for producing colored wood, the method comprising:
- impregnating a block of wood with an organic acid aqueous solution containing an organic acid, wherein the wood is artificially dried wood, a moisture content of the artificially dried wood is 7% to 25%, and the moisture content of the wood is measured in accordance with the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS Z2101;
- and
- performing steam treatment at a temperature and a pressure on the block of wood in a wet state of being impregnated with the organic acid aqueous solution while keeping the block of wood in the wet state,
- wherein, in the steam treatment, the temperature is 110° C. or more and 160° C. or less and the pressure is a saturated steam pressure at the temperature, and
- wherein a thickness of the wood is 10 mm or more and 40 mm or less.
