Abstract
A fluid-filled chamber is provided and includes a first barrier layer, a second barrier layer, a foam structure, and a tensile member. The second barrier layer is secured to the first barrier layer to define an interior void between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer. The interior void contains a predetermined volume of fluid. The foam structure and the tensile member are disposed within the interior void, whereby the tensile member includes a plurality of fibers extending in a first direction between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer.
Claims20
A sole structure for an article of footwear having an upper, the sole structure comprising:
- a fluid-filled chamber including a first barrier layer, a second barrier layer secured to the first barrier layer to define an interior void between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, a first tensile member disposed within the interior void and attached to one of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, a first foam structure disposed within the interior void and between the first tensile member and the other of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, and a second tensile member disposed within the interior void, attached to the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, and including a height that is substantially equivalent to a combined height of the first tensile member and the first foam structure.
A sole structure for an article of footwear having an upper, the sole structure comprising:
- a fluid-filled chamber including a first barrier layer, a second barrier layer secured to the first barrier layer to define an interior void between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, a first tensile member disposed within the interior void and attached to one of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, a first foam structure disposed within the interior void and between the first tensile member and the other of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, a second tensile member disposed within the interior void and attached to the one of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, and a second foam structure disposed within the interior void, disposed between the second tensile member and the other of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, and spaced apart from the first foam structure in a direction extending along a longitudinal axis of the fluid-filled chamber, a combined height of the first tensile member and the first foam structure being substantially equivalent to a combined height of the second tensile member and the second foam structure.
