Systems and methods for controlling cloud-based application access to resources via a user agent client application

An apparatus comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory communicatively coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions executed by the processor to:
• execute a user agent client application on a client terminal, wherein the user agent client application is adapted to provide control of at least one computing resource of one or more computing resources disposed in association with the client terminal;
• establish a channel communication link between the user agent client application and a cloud-based application;
• and
• arbitrate an access to the at least one computing resource for the cloud-based application by the user agent client application based at least in part on information exchanged via the channel communication link, wherein the information relates to an invoked functionality that was invoked using a cloud client application hosted on a user client interface application, and wherein the arbitrating bypasses the user client interface application by receiving, by the user agent client application, at least one command from the cloud-based application that control the access to the at least one computing resource via the channel communication link.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• executing a user agent client application on a client terminal, wherein the user agent client application is adapted to provide control of at least one computing resource of one or more computing resources disposed in association with the client terminal;
• establishing a channel communication link between the user agent client application and a cloud-based application;
• and
• arbitrating an access to the at least one computing resource for the cloud-based application by the user agent client application based at least in part on information exchanged via the channel communication link, wherein the information relates to an invoked functionality that was invoked using a cloud client application hosted on a user client interface application, and wherein the arbitrating bypasses the user client interface application by receiving, by the user agent client application, at least one command from the cloud-based application that control the access to the at least one computing resource via the channel communication link.
