This disclosure provides an isophthalamide compound and use thereof, wherein the compound has a structure as shown by general formula I: the definition of each substituent in the formula is shown in the specification. The specification also discloses use thereof as an insecticide and an animal parasite control agent.

An isophthalamide compound, wherein the isophthalamide compound has a structure shown by formula I:
- In the formula I:
- R1 is selected from halogen;
- R2 is selected from halogen, C1-C4 halogenoalkyl, and C1-C4 halogenoalkoxy;
- R3 is CF3 or CF2CF3;
- R4 is selected from cyano C1-C4 alkyl;
- R5 is selected from fluorine, difluoromethyl, and trifluoromethyl.
