Abstract
An oven may include an image processing system configured to take images of an interior of a cavity of the oven. Images of the interior of the oven cavity captured by the image processing system are input into a machine learning model trained to identify food items in the image. The oven uses the identity of the food item output by the machine learning model to determine a cooking program for the food item and cooks the food item according to the cooking program. The oven may use the image processing system to monitor the cooking process of the food item and update the cooking program during the cooking process based on the observed progress.
Claims10
An oven, comprising:
- an oven body including an oven cavity having one or more heating elements and a selectively openable door;
- an imaging device coupled to the oven body, such that the imaging device is configured to generate images of an interior of the oven cavity;
- and
- an electronic controller configured to selectively control the one or more heating elements to heat the oven cavity, the electronic controller including processing logic configured to:
- use one or more machine learning models trained to output an identity and count of each of a plurality of food items disposed in the oven cavity, based on one or more images of the interior of the oven cavity generated by the imaging device;
- determine a primary food item of the plurality of food items disposed in the oven cavity;
- select a cooking program based on cooking the primary food item;
- and
- cook the plurality of food items according to the cooking program selected for the primary food item.
