Ladders, mechanisms and components for ladders, and related methods

A ladder, comprising:

• a base assembly having a first pair of rails and a first plurality of rungs extending between and coupled to the first pair of rails, at least one rail of the first pair of rails having a channel extending perpendicular to at least one rung of the first plurality of rungs and opening at an end of the at least one rung;
• a fly assembly having a second pair of rails and a second plurality of rungs extending between and coupled to the second pair of rails;
• a bearing member positioned in the end of the at least one rail and having a longitudinal slot receiving a second rail of the second pair of rails, the longitudinal slot having a radius of curvature along a longitudinal dimension of the longitudinal slot, wherein the radius of curvature is defined about an axis parallel to the first plurality of rungs.

A ladder comprising:

• a first assembly having a first pair of rails spaced apart from each other and a first plurality of rungs extending between, and coupled to, the first pair of rails;
• a second assembly having a second pair of rails spaced apart from each other and a second plurality of rungs extending between, and coupled to, the second pair of rails, the first assembly being slidably coupled with the second assembly;
• at least one bearing member coupled to a first rail of the first pair of rails, the at least one bearing member having a body portion disposed within a recess of the first rail and having an elongated L-slot formed within the body portion, the elongated L-slot matingly and slidingly engaging a first rail of the second pair of rails, wherein the elongated L-slot includes a lateral shoulder protruding laterally inward toward a second rail of the first pair of rails beyond any other portion of the at least one bearing member.
