Abstract
The present invention provides a heterocyclic compound having an orexin type 2 receptor agonist activity. A compound represented by the formula (I): wherein each symbol is as described in the description, or a salt thereof has an orexin type 2 receptor agonist activity, and is useful as an agent for the prophylaxis or treatment of narcolepsy.

A compound of formula (I):
- wherein
- R1 is an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group, an optionally substituted mono- or di-C1-6 alkylamino group, or an optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl group;
- R2 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group, an optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl group, or an optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy group;
- R3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group, an optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl group, or an optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy group;
- and
- R4 is an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group, an optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl group, an optionally substituted C2-6 alkenyl group, an optionally substituted C2-6 alkynyl group, an optionally substituted C6-10 aryl group, an optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy group, an optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkoxy group, or an optionally substituted 4- to 6-membered heterocyclic group,
- or a salt thereof.
