Modular refrigeration system for storing products

A modular storage unit for a refrigeration system, the modular storage unit comprising:

• an interior volume defined by:
• a door having an inner surface facing the interior volume and an outer surface, the door movable from a closed position to an open position;
• a back wall, wherein the back wall comprises a phase change material disposed within the back wall;
• side walls;
• and
• a base;
• an air inlet for receiving chilled air from the refrigeration system;
• a temperature sensor configured to detect the temperature within the interior volume;
• an insulating wall comprising a phase change material disposed within the insulating wall, wherein the insulating wall is oriented in a first direction that is substantially perpendicular to the back wall;
• a locking system configured to lock the door,
• wherein the modular storage unit is removably coupled to an interior storage compartment of the refrigeration system, and
• wherein the modular storage unit comprises an air duct extending from the back wall to a front end of the modular storage unit, wherein the air duct is configured to deliver chilled air from the refrigeration system to an area proximate to the outer surface of the door.
