Abstract
A Coupling device may be used to connect a drive shaft of an actuator to a driven shaft of an exhaust-gas valve. The coupling device may define a rotational axis and include a torsionally rigid retainer having an axially extending slot, a coupling rod received in the slot for translational movement relative to the retainer in the direction of the rotational axis, and an elastic element biasing the coupling rod in the direction of the rotational axis and having an attachment section fixed to the retainer. The retainer and the coupling rod may be non-rotatably connected.
Claims16
A coupling device for connecting a drive shaft of an actuator to a driven shaft of an exhaust-gas valve, the coupling device defining a rotational axis and comprising:
- a torsionally rigid retainer comprising a hollow cylindrical body with an axially extending slot, the hollow cylindrical body comprising a staged diameter including at least a narrow section that includes a recess and a wide section wider than the narrow section, the wide section including the axially extending slot;
- a coupling rod received in the slot and configured to translationally move relative to the retainer in a direction of the rotational axis, wherein opposite edges of the slot are distanced apart from another by a distance corresponding to an exterior diameter of the coupling rod such that the coupling rod has no rotational play in the corresponding slot;
- and
- an elastic element configured to bias the coupling rod in the direction of the rotational axis and having an attachment section fixed to the retainer, wherein the retainer and the coupling rod are non-rotatably connected.
A method for assembling a coupling device, comprising:
- a) providing a retainer including a hollow cylindrical body with an axially extending slot and a recess configured to hold an attachment section, wherein the hollow cylindrical body comprises a staged diameter including at least a narrow section that includes the recess and a wide section wider than the narrow section that includes the axially extending slot;
- b) providing a coil spring including a coupling rod and the attachment section;
- c) fitting the coupling rod into the slot of the retainer such that the coupling rod is translationally movable relative to the retainer in a direction of a rotational axis, wherein opposite edges of the slot are distanced apart from another by a distance corresponding to an exterior diameter of the coupling rod such that the coupling rod has no rotational play in the slot;
- and
- d) fitting the attachment section into the recess of the retainer.
A coupling device for connecting a drive shaft of an actuator to a driven shaft of an exhaust-gas valve, the coupling device defining a rotational axis and comprising:
- a torsionally rigid retainer comprising a central section, two folds bent towards a first direction relative to the central section, and an axially extending slot formed by the two folds;
- a coupling rod received in the slot and configured to translationally move relative to the retainer in a direction of the rotational axis;
- and
- an elastic element configured to bias the coupling rod in the direction of the rotational axis and having an attachment section fixed to the retainer, wherein the retainer and the coupling rod are non-rotatably connected, wherein the retainer further comprises:
- first and second seams bent towards a second direction relative to the central section and opposite the first direction, the first and second seams forming at least one recess configured to hold the attachment section;
- or
- a sheet metal part including the central section and two folds and/or two seams, the two folds and/or the two seams extending from the central section.
