Abstract
The disclosure provides for an oral composition, the oral composition including at least one active agent, at least one filler component, and water in an amount sufficient such that the oral composition has a total moisture content of about 15% to about 30% by weight or greater based on the total weight of the oral composition.
Claims20
An oral composition comprising:
- at least one active agent;
- at least one filler component selected from the group consisting of microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, and combinations thereof;
- at least one humectant selected from the group consisting of glycerin, propylene glycol, and combinations thereof;
- and
- water in an amount of about 15% to about 30% by weight based on the total weight of the oral composition.
A pouched oral composition comprising an oral composition contained within a water-permeable pouch, wherein the oral composition comprises:
- at least one nicotine component;
- microcrystalline cellulose;
- mannitol;
- glycerin;
- propylene glycol;
- an alginate binding agent;
- an alkali metal buffer;
- and
- water in an amount of about 15% to about 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the oral composition, wherein the pouched oral product has a pH in the range of 7.5 to 10, and wherein the pouched oral product is substantially or completely free of tobacco excluding nicotine content.
A pouched oral product comprising an oral composition contained within a water-permeable pouch, wherein the oral composition comprises:
- at least one nicotine component, calculated as the free base, present in an amount of about 0.01% to about 0.9% by weight based on the total weight of the oral composition;
- microcrystalline cellulose;
- mannitol;
- glycerin;
- propylene glycol;
- sodium alginate;
- sodium carbonate;
- and
- water in an amount of about 15% to about 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the oral composition, wherein the pouched oral product has a pH in the range of 7.5 to 10, and wherein the pouched oral product is substantially or completely free of tobacco excluding nicotine content.
