Reinforced porcelain panel system and associated methods for enhanced structural protection

A method of transporting a reinforced porcelain panel product, the method comprising:

• positioning a reinforced porcelain panel product onto a transport device, the reinforced porcelain panel product defined by a structural core board including a foam-core material in abutting contact with a bottom surface of a porcelain slab with an adhesive material therebetween such that the structural core board substantially extends beyond an outer periphery of the porcelain slab to define a buffer region, the buffer region to enhance protection from chipping or cracking when the reinforced porcelain panel product is handled, and the structural core board having an overall thickness greater than an overall thickness of the porcelain slab;
• stacking two or more reinforced porcelain panel products such that each of the structural core boards deform to protect the porcelain slab from chipping or cracking from a force exerted onto the reinforced porcelain panel product by a ground or a weight of from another reinforced porcelain panel product;
• and
• transporting the stacked reinforced porcelain panel products to a recipient at a remote location such that the recipient receives a reinforced porcelain panel product void of breaks on the porcelain slab.

A method for lifting a reinforced porcelain panel product using a lifting clamp, the method comprising:

• positioning a reinforced porcelain panel product within an interstitial space of the lifting clamp configured to open or close the interstitial space by actuation of the lifting clamp, the reinforced porcelain panel product defined by a structural core board including a foam-core material in abutting contact with a bottom surface of a porcelain slab with an adhesive material therebetween and such that the structural core board substantially extends beyond an outer periphery of the porcelain slab to define a buffer region, the buffer region to enhance protection from chipping or cracking when the reinforced porcelain panel product is handled, and the structural core board having an overall thickness greater than an overall thickness of the porcelain slab;
• contacting the reinforced porcelain panel product with the lifting clamp such that the porcelain slab and the structural core board each abuttingly contact the lifting clamp;
• compressing the reinforced porcelain panel product such that the structural core board deforms to protect the porcelain slab from chipping or cracking caused by the compression of the lifting clamp;
• and
• lifting the reinforced porcelain panel product using the lifting clamp.
