Abstract
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for increasing the production of virus in vitro. Modified cells which are modified to eliminate or reduce as compared to a control cell the activity or expression of a Sterile α motif-domain containing protein 9 (SAMD9) polypeptide are provided. Methods of using these cells are also provided.
Claims5
A method of producing a virus comprising introducing a virus into a modified cell, wherein the cell is modified to eliminate or reduce the activity or expression of a Sterile α motif-domain containing protein 9 (SAMD9) polypeptide as compared to a control cell, and wherein the virus is selected from the group consisting of a herpes simplex virus, a rotavirus, a reovirus, an influenza virus, and an adenovirus and wherein the modified cell produces at least a log10 increase in virus titer as compared with a control cell.
