Filtration system and method for synchronizing permeate and retentate flow

A fluid filtration system, comprising:

• a fluid storage vessel;
• a filter housing including a filter element therein;
• a first pump coupled between the fluid storage vessel and the filter housing, the first pump configured for transferring fluid from the fluid storage vessel to the filter housing;
• a permeate pump coupled to the filter housing for removing a permeate from the filter housing, wherein the permeate comprises a portion of the fluid that is filtered by the filter element during operation of the system;
• and
• a controller coupled to the first pump and the permeate pump, the controller including a processor programmed to execute instructions to control the permeate pump and the first pump to synchronize a permeate flowrate through the permeate pump with a flow rate through the first pump such that a change in the first pump flow-rate automatically adjusts the permeate pump flow-rate.
