Optical device

An optical device, comprising:

• a thin film filter disposed over a first surface of one or more substrates,
• wherein the thin film filter comprises a set of dielectric thin film layers;
• and
• one or more optical elements disposed over a second surface of the one or more substrates,
• the one or more optical elements comprising one or more metamaterial structures or one or more diffractive structures,
• a thickness of the one or more optical elements being less than or equal to 10 microns, and
• a thickness of the optical device being less than or equal to 5 millimeters.

An optical device, comprising:

• an optical filter,
• the optical filter comprising an aperture;
• one or more optical elements;
• and
• one or more additional optical elements comprising one or more additional metamaterial structures,
• the one or more optical elements comprising one or more metamaterial structures,
• a thickness of the one or more metamaterial structures being approximately 100 nanometers (nm) to 2 microns (μm), and
• a thickness of the optical device being less than or equal to 5 millimeters.
