A compound of the following formula (I):

• wherein:
• A is aryl or heteroaryl;
• W is S or O;
• R1 is independently selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydrogen, (2) halogen, (3) C1-6 alkyl, (4) —O—C1-6 alkyl, and (5) —NRaRb;
• wherein the C1-6 alkyl or the —O—C1-6 alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of:
• halogen and hydroxyl;
• Ra and Rb are independently selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydrogen, (2) C1-6 alkyl, and (3) C3-7 cycloalkyl;
• or Ra may form a 4 to 7 membered ring with Rb which may contain one or more selected from N, O, S, and carbonyl;
• p is 1, 2, or 3;
• Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4 are independently selected from the group consisting of CH, CR2, and N;
• wherein the number of nitrogen atom(s) in the Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4 is 0, 1, or 2;
• R2 is independently selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydrogen, (2) halogen, (3) hydroxyl, (4) C1-6 alkyl, (5) —O—C1-6 alkyl, and (6) —CN;
• wherein the C1-6 alkyl or the —O—C1-6 alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of:
• halogen and hydroxyl;
• q is 1, 2, 3, or 4;
• X1 is selected from the group consisting of:
• a chemical bond, CH2, CH(C1-6 alkyl), and C(C1-6 alkyl)(C1-6 alkyl);
• X2 is selected from the group consisting of:
• a chemical bond, C1-6 alkylene, and C1-6 alkylene-(C═O)—;
• wherein the C1-6 alkylene or the C1-6 alkylene-(C═O)— is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of:
• halogen, hydroxyl, and C1-6 alkyl;
• B is aryl, heteroaryl, or C3-7 cycloalkyl;
• R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydrogen, (2) halogen, (3) hydroxyl, (4) C1-6 alkyl, (5) C2-6 alkenyl, (6) C3-7 cycloalkyl, (7) —O—C1-6 alkyl, (8) —O—C3-7 cycloalkyl, (9) heterocyclyl, (10) aryl, (11) heteroaryl, (12) —(C═O)—R4, (13) —(C═O)—NR5R6, (14) —NR5(C═O)R4, (15) —NR5R6, (16) —S(O)2—R4, (17) —NR5—S(O)2R4, (18) —S(O)2—NR5R6, (19) —CN, and (20) —S—C1-6 alkyl;
• wherein the C1-6 alkyl, the C2-6 alkenyl, the C3-7 cycloalkyl, the —O—C1-6 alkyl, the —O—C3-7 cycloalkyl, the heterocyclyl, or the —S—C1-6 alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from halogen and hydroxyl;
• r is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4;
• R4 is selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydroxyl, (2) C1-6 alkyl, (3) —O—C1-6 alkyl, (4) C3-7 cycloalkyl, (5) —O—C3-7 cycloalkyl, (6) C2-6 alkenyl, (7) aryl, (8) heteroaryl, and (9) heterocyclyl;
• wherein the C1-6 alkyl, the —O—C1-6 alkyl, the C3-7 cycloalkyl, the —O—C3-7 cycloalkyl, the C2-6 alkenyl, or the heterocyclyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from halogen and hydroxyl;
• wherein the aryl or the heteroaryl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from halogen, hydroxyl, C1-6 alkyl, —O—C1-6 alkyl, and —CN;
• R5 and R6 are independently selected from the group consisting of:
• (1) hydrogen, (2) C1-6 alkyl, (3) C3-7 cycloalkyl, (4) heterocyclyl, (5) aryl, and (6) heteroaryl;
• wherein the C1-6 alkyl, the C3-7 cycloalkyl, or the heterocyclyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of:
• halogen and hydroxyl;
• wherein the aryl or the heteroaryl is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from halogen, hydroxyl, C1-6 alkyl, —O—C1-6 alkyl, and —CN;
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a prodrug thereof.
