Abstract
A handheld extraction cleaner includes a supply tank that is configured to store cleaning liquid and is usable in multiple orientations. A drain pipe is provided in the bottom of the supply tank to provide liquid to an outlet of the supply tank even when the extraction cleaner is tipped forward.
Claims20
A handheld extraction cleaner, comprising:
- a unitary body including a carry handle and a supply tank receiver having a tank receiver inlet, the unitary body having a forward end and a rearward end;
- and
- a fluid delivery system including at least one fluid distributor at the forward end of the unitary body and a supply tank carried by the unitary body and removably mounted in the supply tank receiver, the supply tank comprising:
- a tank body with a tank outlet, the tank body defining a supply chamber for holding a supply of cleaning liquid;
- and
- a drain pipe provided in a bottom of the supply tank and comprising a pipe inlet in fluid communication with the supply chamber and a pipe outlet, wherein the drain pipe is oriented with the pipe inlet toward the forward end of the unitary body to provide liquid to the tank outlet when the extraction cleaner is tipped forward;
- and
- wherein the tank outlet comprises a quick connect fitting configured to mate with the tank receiver inlet, whereby the tank outlet can be quickly connected and unconnected to the tank receiver inlet using a single hand;
- wherein the handheld extraction cleaner has an operative use position relative to a surface to be cleaned in which the extraction cleaner is tipped forward and the pipe inlet is closer to the surface to be cleaned than the pipe outlet.
6 more elements
A handheld extraction cleaner, comprising:
- a unitary body including a carry handle and a supply tank receiver having a tank receiver inlet, the unitary body having a forward end and a rearward end;
- a recovery system including a working air path through the unitary body, a suction nozzle at the forward end of the unitary body, the suction nozzle defining an inlet to the working air path, a suction source in fluid communication with the suction nozzle, and a recovery tank carried by the unitary body;
- and
- a fluid delivery system including at least one fluid distributor and a supply tank carried by the unitary body and removably mounted in the supply tank receiver, the supply tank comprising:
- a tank body with a tank outlet, the tank body defining a supply chamber for holding a supply of cleaning liquid;
- and
- a drain pipe provided in a bottom of the supply tank in fluid communication with the tank outlet, the drain pipe comprising a pipe inlet in fluid communication with the supply chamber and a pipe outlet, wherein the drain pipe is oriented with the pipe inlet toward the forward end of the unitary body;
- wherein the unitary body includes a recovery tank receiver, and the recovery tank is removably mounted in the recovery tank receiver;
- the recovery tank comprises a tank body with a tank inlet, the tank body defining a collection chamber for holding recovered liquid and debris;
- and the tank body of the supply tank is separate from the tank body of the recovery tank and can be removed from the supply tank receiver without removing the recovery tank from the recovery tank receiver;
- wherein the handheld extraction cleaner has an operative use position relative to a surface to be cleaned in which the extraction cleaner is tipped forward and held with the suction nozzle at the forward end of the unitary body generally adjacent the surface to be cleaned;
- and
- wherein the pipe inlet is closer to the surface to be cleaned than the pipe outlet in the operative use position to provide liquid to the tank outlet when the extraction cleaner is tipped forward.
