Abstract
An apparatus comprising a bias current generator for generating a bias current, the bias current generator comprising two or more negative threshold transistors of the same type and coupled in series.
Claims18
An apparatus comprising:
- a bias current generator comprising two or more negative threshold transistors coupled in series, wherein the bias current generator is configured to generate a bias current;
- a measurement circuitry configured to measure a first quantity that is dependent on the bias current;
- and
- a trimming circuitry configured to:
- receive the measurement of the first quantity;
- based on the measurement of the first quantity, determine a trimming signal necessary to provide to the bias current generator such that the bias current generator will adjust the bias current to provide a desired bias current;
- and
- provide the trimming signal determined to the bias current generator, wherein the bias current generator adjusts the bias current in response to the trimming signal to provide the desired bias current.

A method comprising:
- generating a bias current by a bias current generator comprising two or more negative threshold transistors coupled in series;
- measuring, by a measurement circuitry, a first quantity that is dependent on the bias current;
- based on the measurement of the first quantity, determining, by a trimming circuit, a trimming signal necessary to provide to the bias current generator such that the bias current generator will adjust the bias current to a desired bias current;
- and
- providing, by the trimming circuitry, the determined trimming signal to the bias current generator, wherein the bias current generator adjusts the bias current in response to the trimming signal to provide the desired bias current.
