Abstract
Paperband composites for transferring a paper web from a full web spool to an empty web spool. In some embodiments, the paperband composite is applied in several layers to an empty web spool, each layer suitable for fixedly attaching a paper web to the empty spool. Multiple layers of paperband composite allow for use during multiple turn-up procedures with one layer of paperband composite used per turn-up procedure. In some examples, the paperband composite may be applied to a paper spool tangentially along the spool face and perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spool. In other examples, the paperband composite may be spirally wrapped around the paper spool.
Claims20
A paperband composite for transferring a paper web from a full web spool to an empty web spool, the paperband composite comprising:
- a substrate having a first side and a second side;
- wherein the first side comprises a spool surface adhesive coated region and a plurality of release coated regions extending from the spool surface adhesive coated region;
- wherein the second side comprises a paper web adhesive coating;
- and
- wherein the paperband composite further comprises a plurality of perforations at predetermined locations along a length of the substrate, wherein the plurality of perforations are spaced to create a staggered alignment when wrapped around the empty web spool.
