Abstract
A vehicle control system includes a plurality of sensors that determine ride height information of a vehicle, a sensor that determines pitch information for the vehicle, and a controller that selectively applies traction torque and braking torque to wheels of the vehicle based on vehicle speed, the pitch information and the ride height information.
Claims20
A vehicle control system comprising:
- a plurality of sensors that determine ride height information of a vehicle;
- a sensor that determines pitch information for the vehicle;
- and
- a controller that selectively applies traction torque and braking torque to wheels of the vehicle based on vehicle speed, the pitch information and the ride height information,
- wherein the controller applies the traction torque or the braking torque responsive to a determination of a current proximity to pitch resonance.
2 more elements
A method of automatically applying traction control for a suspension system of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- determining proximity to pitch resonance based on pitch information, ride height information and vehicle speed for the vehicle;
- determining traction torque or braking torque to apply to increase proximity to pitch resonance;
- and
- applying the traction torque or the braking torque to selected wheels of the vehicle responsive to counteract pitch.
1 more element
A vehicle control system comprising:
- a plurality of sensors that determine ride height information of a vehicle;
- a sensor that determines pitch information for the vehicle;
- and
- a controller that selectively applies traction torque and braking torque to wheels of the vehicle based on vehicle speed, the pitch information and the ride height information,
- wherein the ride height information comprises an indication of absolute position of a corresponding one of the wheels relative to a range of travel between maximum compression and maximum rebound positions.
